PHILLIPS DRIVES THROWBACK #75 IN SEASON FINALE

Terry Phillips, of Springfield, Missouri, closed out his version of the 2016 racing season from November 10-12 in the annual running of the 'Duel in the Desert' at the pristine Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. Aboard one of Jordan Grabouski's #75 GRT mounts, which was decaled to mirror one of his dad's paint schemes from the mid-70s, Terry advanced from fourteenth to third in his A-Qualifier on Thursday night to finish behind only prelim victor Lucas Schott and runner-up Bobby Hogge IV. After rolling off from the inside of the fifth row in Saturday's $7,777.77 to win main event, TP quickly moved up to fourth in the 40-lapper before a broken tie-rod ended his weekend prematurely and forced him to settle for a twenty-fourth place effort. TERRY PHILLIPS LANDS ON PODIUM AT 81 SPEEDWAY

Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) invaded 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on November 4-5 for the 'Chisholm Trail Showdown,' which was sanctioned by the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). On Friday night, Terry Phillips ran second in his first heat race of the evening, while he placed fourth in his final prelim. After racking up the tenth most passing points in preliminary competition, TP started Saturday's $5,000 to win headliner from the outside of the fifth row. The Springfield, Missouri standout then methodically worked his way to the front of the field in the 50-lapper and was officially placed third in the final finishing order behind only winner Ryan Gustin and runner-up Dereck Ramirez. PHILLIPS SPUN EARLY IN USRA FALL NATIONALS

Springfield, Missouri standout Terry Phillips traveled to Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, New Mexico on October 21-23 for the annual running of the 'USRA Fall Nationals.' The huge Open Wheel Modified special at SNMS boasted an $11,000 to win headliner. After finishing twelfth in Friday's preliminary feature and third on Saturday evening in the prelim, Terry started the 50-lap feature event on Sunday night from the outside of the third row. Unfortunately, TP was spun early in the race and was forced to rebound from the tail of the field to salvage a fourteenth place showing. TP ON PODIUM IN USRA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Terry Phillips and his #75 team rolled into Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas from October 13-15 for the annual running of the 'USRA National Championship.' Terry won his heat race on Thursday night prior to scoring the $500 triumph in the preliminary feature event. After finishing sixth in Friday evening's prelim, TP ran third in the dash on Saturday to earn the inside of the second row for the start of the $3,000 to win headliner. In the 35-lapper, the Springfield, Missouri standout eventually finished right where he started... in the third spot behind only victor Lucas Schott and runner-up Zack VanderBeek. PHILLIPS EARNS TOP FIVE IN FALL NATIONALS OPENER
(October 10, 2016)
Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) wrapped up the 2016 version of the Lucas Oil MLRA Series season schedule on October 7-8 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. In night one of the 'Fall Nationals' on Friday, Terry Phillips won his heat race prior to finishing fifth in the $3,000 to win feature event behind only winner Jesse Stovall, Bobby Pierce, Billy Moyer, and Brian Shirley. In Saturday's $5,000 to win 'Fall Nationals' finale at Wheatland, Terry ran fourth in his heat race, but was later involved in a wreck during the headliner and wound up twenty-first in the final finishing order.

The busy weekend then concluded on Sunday evening, October 9 at the nearby Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri, as the MARS DIRTcar Series sanctioned the 'Showdown on Route 66.' Terry clicked off the second fastest time in his group during qualifying prior to scoring the victory in his heat race. Unfortunately, the Springfield native slipped back through the field during the $6,600 to win main event and was eventually paid for another twenty-first place performance. TERRY PHILLIPS BUSY WITH MOD AT LAKESIDE & SALINA
(October 2, 2016)
It was another busy weekend for Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) on September 29-October 1, as they traveled to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas and Salina Highbanks Speedway in Pryor Creek, Oklahoma for a trio of high-profile Open Wheel Modified programs. At Lakeside on Thursday night, Terry Phillips advanced up to fifth in his heat race, but was later involved in a first lap wreck in his $1,500 to win 'Dueces Wild' feature event and wound up twenty-fourth in the final finishing order. On Friday evening, the 'Grant Junghans Memorial' took center stage and a huge $10,002 top prize was on the line. Terry ran second in his heat race prior to moving up to twelfth in the 42-lap mega-event.

The tripleheader weekend then wrapped up on Saturday at Salina with a $3,000 to win Modified shootout. TP blasted past six competitors during his heat race to finish third and later rolled off from the outside of the third row in the headliner. The Springfield, Missouri ace was then on the move in the feature as well, as he advanced up to third to earn a strong podium effort in the 'Sooner Showdown!' Following a fourteenth place effort in Thursday night's $5,000 to win USMTS program at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota, Terry Phillips and his #75 team rolled into Legit Speedway Park in West Plains, Missouri on September 23-24 for a pair of MARS DIRTcar Series showdowns. On Friday evening, Terry ran second in his heat race prior to knocking down a solid fifth place effort in the $2,000 to win main event behind only winner Justin Wells, Logan Martin, Payton Looney, and Will Vaught. At West Plains on Saturday in the $3,000 to win weekend finale, Terry finished fifth in his heat race and won his B-Main before winding up nineteenth in the MARS headliner. TP GRABS TOP FIVE IN WORLD NATIONALS IN IOWA!

Terry Phillips, of Springfield, Missouri, jumped behind the wheel of Jordan Grabouski's #30x GRT machine on September 16-17 in the annual 'World Nationals' for IMCA Modifieds at Marshalltown Speedway in Marshalltown, Iowa. Terry won both of his heat races on Friday night, which enabled him to start on the pole of Saturday's $10,000 to win main event. TP then paced the field during parts of the early and middle stages of the race before eventually slipping back to fourth to finish behind only winner Jacob Murray, Mike Mullen, and Marcus Yarie. PHILLIPS COMPETES IN 5TH ANNUAL MODIFIED NATIONALS

Terry Phillips and his #75 TPR team ventured north to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin from September 8-10 for the 5th edition of the 'Modified Nationals,' which boasted a hefty $40,000 payday. Terry ran second in his heat race on Thursday night prior to winning his B-Main and advancing up to eighth in the preliminary feature event. After starting Saturday's 60-lap headliner from the thirteenth starting spot, Terry wound up sixteenth in the final finishing order of the 'Modified Nationals.' TP THIRD IN LABOR DAY WEEKEND OPENER AT LAKESIDE
(September 5, 2016)
Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) was back on the Lucas Oil MLRA Series trail on September 2-3 with a pair of high-profile shootouts at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas and Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. On Friday night at Lakeside, Terry Phillips ran second in his heat race prior to placing third in the $3,000 to win feature event behind only winner JC Wyman and runner-up Chase Junghans. In Saturday's $5,075 to win 'Larry Phillips Memorial' at Wheatland, Terry once again ran second in heat race action, but experienced trouble in the 50-lapper. TP first cut down a left rear tire and later bent a tie-rod, which led to the Springfield, Missouri standout retiring from his dad's memorial race in the twenty-third position.

On Sunday, September 4, the MARS DIRTcar Series presided over the annual running of the 'Four State Dirt Track Championship' at Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri and a $4,000 winner's check was on the line. Terry finished fourth in his heat race and was later up inside of the top five in the main event. Unfortunately, another flat tire doomed Phillips and relegated him to a disappointing fifteenth place showing. Following a rain-out of the 'Grant Junghans Memorial,' the #75 team rolled into Salina Highbanks Speedway in Pryor Creek, Oklahoma on Saturday night, August 20 for a $3,000 to win United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) shootout. Terry Phillips moved up to second in his heat race and later started the 32-lap main event from the outside of the sixth row. TP then blasted past nine competitors during the headliner en route to a sterling third place podium effort behind only race winner Jason Hughes and runner-up Cade Dillard. HECTIC WEEK WITH MLRA NETS PHILLIPS TWO WINS!!!

A long, hectic week (August 8-13) with the Lucas Oil MLRA Series wrapped up with a pair of victories for the Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) team at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska! On Friday night, Terry won his heat race prior to leading all thirty circuits in the headliner on his way to a $3,000 triumph over Jesse Stovall, Ryan Gustin, Austin Siebert, and Tad Pospisil. At Junction on Saturday evening, Terry once again took the victory in his heat race and later led from flag-to-flag in the 40-lapper en route to capturing the $5,000 windfall over Tad Pospisil, Jesse Stovall, Ryan Gustin, and Kyle Berck.

Earlier in the week, the #75 team competed in $10,000 to win specials at Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa and West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, Iowa, along with a $5,000 to win showdown at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Terry was placed seventh in the final rundown Monday at Farley, finished an impressive runner-up behind only victor Chris Simpson at West Liberty on Tuesday, and wound up fifteenth on Wednesday in a 40-lap tilt at Deer Creek. TERRY PHILLIPS CASHES $3,000 WIN AT HUMBOLDT!

Terry Phillips and his #75 TPR team racked up their sixth feature win of the 2016 campaign on Friday evening, August 5 in USMTS competition at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas! Terry won his heat race in preliminary action and later rolled off from the outside of the second row in the 42-lap main event. TP then grabbed the top spot on the 21st circuit and led the remainder of the distance to pocket the $3,000 winner's share over Jeremy Payne, Ryan Gustin, Johnny Scott, and Jason Hughes!

In other USMTS action over the weekend, Terry drove past ten competitors during the $3,000 to win headliner on Thursday at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri en route to a solid sixth place showing. In a similar $3,000 to win program on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, TP started third and led the first seventeen laps of the main event. At the checkers in the 42-lap 'Lucas Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout,' the Springfield, Missouri star found himself fifth behind only race winner Zack VanderBeek, Ryan Gustin, Jason Hughes, and Cade Dillard. TERRY PHILLIPS BUSY IN SILVER DOLLAR NATIONALS

Terry Phillips and his #75 TPR team were extremely busy over the July 22-23 weekend in the annual 'Silver Dollar Nationals' at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska. Behind the wheel of his Super Late Model, Terry won his first heat race on Friday night, while he placed fourth in his final prelim of the evening. After rolling off from the outside of the fourth row in Saturday's $40,000 to win headliner, TP was unfortunately an early retiree in the 80-lapper and was relegated to a thirtieth place performance.

In USMTS Modified competition, Terry finished third in his first heat race and fourth in his second heat race before scoring the triumph in his B-Main. The Springfield, Missouri standout then started the $5,000 to win feature from the inside of the sixth row and proceeded to pick off five competitors en route to a steady sixth place effort in the 42-lap affair. Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) celebrated in victory lane for the fifth time in 2016 on Friday night, July 15 in the annual 'John Kuntz Memorial' at Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri! Terry Phillips advanced to second in his heat race and later started the MARS DIRTcar Series-sanctioned headliner from the pole position. TP then led each and every circuit during the 40-lapper to claim the $3,000 paycheck ahead of Kyle Beard, Tommy Weder, Jr., Jesse Stovall, and Jason Papich!

On Saturday evening, July 16, the Lucas Oil MLRA Series and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series co-sanctioned the annual running of the 'CMH Diamond Nationals' at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Terry ran sixth in his loaded heat race and seventh in his B-Main, but later received a MLRA provisional to gain access into the $12,000 to win main event. The Springfield, Missouri hotshoe then folded his nose under early in the 60-lap contest and retired in the twenty-third position.
