COMPETES IN TRIPLEHEADER WEEKEND
(May 14, 2012) The Terry Phillips Racing
(TPR) team brought both an Open Wheel Modified and a Dirt
Late Model in the team transporter over the May 10-12 weekend
to enter a trio of events. On Thursday night, Terry Phillips
competed in a $4,000 to win USMTS modified program at the
Heart O' Texas Speedway in Elm Mott, Texas. Terry ran second
in his heat race prior to passing six competitors in the A-Main
en route to a strong third place performance.
The #75 team then went Dirt Late Model racing
on Friday and Saturday in the states of Oklahoma and Missouri.
On Friday evening at the Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee,
Oklahoma, Terry won his heat race and was leading the main
event when a broken oil line relegated him to a disappointing
thirteenth place finish in the $2,000 to win Comp Cams Super
Dirt Series showdown. The tripleheader weekend wrapped up
on Saturday at the Springfield (MO) Raceway with the $3,000
to win 'John Kuntz Memorial,' which was co-sanctioned by the
MLRA and MARS tours. TP ran second in his heat race and eventually
notched a seventh place effort in the A-Main, despite suffering
a flat tire during the 40-lapper. Full results can be viewed

Earlier in the weekend, the #75 team was in
action on Thursday at the Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake,
Wisconsin. Terry ran third in his heat race, won his B-Main,
and later wound up fourteenth in the final rundown of the

the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota was unfortunately
wiped out by inclement weather. Complete results from the

(April
23, 2012) Terry Phillips, of Springfield, Missouri,
returned to Open Wheel Modified action from April 19-22 in
a trio of USMTS showdowns in the states of Missouri and Oklahoma.
The extended weekend kicked-off on Thursday night at the LA
Raceway in LaMonte, Missouri. Terry was leading his heat race
until the final lap when engine woes relegated him to a second
place prelim finish. Unfortunately, the motor problems also
caused him to scratch from the A-Main and he was credited
with a disappointing twenty-seventh place finish.
Things went much smoother for the #75 team on
Saturday and Sunday, as Terry picked up a couple of $2,000
triumphs! On Saturday evening at the Salina Highbanks Speedway
in Salina, Oklahoma, TP ran second in his heat race before
coming out on top of an exciting main event, which featured
multiple lead changes. At the Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri
on Sunday in the weekend finale, Terry won his heat race and
later led the final nine circuits of the A-Main to pocket
the $2,000 payday. Complete results from all three USMTS battles

WINS PRELIM; BREAKS DURING KOA FINALE...
(April
2, 2012) The Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) team ventured
to the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas from March 28-31
for the 2nd Annual 'King of America Modified Nationals.' On
Friday night, Terry Phillips had a tremendous qualifying night,
as he won his heat race from the fifth starting spot and later
led all 35 laps of the main event. By virtue of his dominating
performance on Friday, Terry earned the second most points
in preliminary competition, which locked him into the outside
of the front row in Saturday's 75-lap feature.
TP immediately grabbed the point at the drop
of the green flag on Saturday and had his sights set on the
hefty $15,000 top prize. He led the first fifteen circuits,
but unfortunately had to give up the lead when he broke a
brake caliper mount on his #75 GRT modified. The mechanical
failure dropped the Springfield, Missouri standout to a very
disappointing twenty-fifth place finish in the USMTS extravaganza.
Complete results from the long week at Humboldt can be viewed
online at www.usmts.com.
