The #75 team made a last minute decision on Saturday, May 20 to invade Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri for a weekly Open Wheel Modified event. The decision paid off in a big way, as Terry Phillips was able to control the last half of the feature distance to reach victory lane. Terry won his heat race from the seventh starting spot and later rolled off from the pole position in the 20-lap main event. At the checkers, TP laid claim to the $600 top prize over Mitch Keeter, Terry Schultz, Jim Moody, and John Allen! PHILLIPS MOVES UP IN MODIFIED SUPER WEEKEND
(May 14, 2017)
Terry Phillips, of Springfield, Missouri, jumped behind the wheel of one of Jordan Grabouski's #30 IMCA Modifieds for the inaugural 'Modified Super Weekend' on May 12-13 at Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa. On Friday night during preliminary action, Terry finished sixth in his first heat race of the evening prior to scoring the victory in his second and final prelim. TP then advanced up to fourth in his B-Main on Saturday, but that was one mere spot away from a transfer position into the $50,000 to win headliner. After sponsors bought Terry a provisional starting spot through a charity auction, he was able to move past sixteen cars during the 50-lap contest en route to a fifteenth place showing. PAIR OF TOP TENS FOR PHILLIPS IN HAWKEYE STATE
(May 7, 2017)
Terry Phillips was back on the Lucas Oil MLRA Series trail from May 4-6 in a tripleheader weekend in the Hawkeye State of Iowa. Things kicked off on Thursday night at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa. Terry clicked off the fastest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to winning his heat race in preliminary action. After starting the $3,000 to win main event from the outside of the front row, TP ran towards the front during the 40-lapper before eventually sliding back to sixth to trail only winner Chris Simpson, Tony Jackson, Jr., Jimmy Mars, Chad Simpson, and Billy Moyer at the checkers.

Two more $3,000 to win MLRA programs then greeted the #75 team at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa and Independence Motor Speedway in Independence, Iowa. On Friday evening at Davenport, Terry finished eighth in his loaded heat race and fifth in his B-Main before blasting past twelve competitors on the 1/4-mile oval in the 40-lap feature to place ninth in the final finishing order. In Saturday's weekend finale at Independence, the Springfield, Missouri standout ran sixth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and fifteenth in the 40-lap main event. PHILLIPS EARNS TOP TENS IN USMTS ACTION

Terry Phillips and his #75 team took on the cars and stars of the USMTS Series on April 21-22 in $3,000 to win specials at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas and I-35 Speedway in Winston, Missouri. On Friday night at Lakeside, Terry unfortunately got a hole in his radiator during the heat race, won his B-Main, and later climbed past nine competitors during the 30-lap feature en route to salvaging an eighth place effort. At Winston on Saturday evening, Terry won his loaded heat race prior to winding up seventh in the final rundown of the 40-lapper. TERRY PHILLIPS RUNNER-UP IN WHEATLAND OPENER

Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) invaded the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on April 14-15 for the two-day 'Spring Nationals.' The Lucas Oil MLRA Series doubleheader kicked off on Friday night with a $2,000 to win shootout. Terry Phillips ran third in heat race action prior to picking off ten competitors during the 25-lapper en route to a sterling runner-up effort behind only victor Will Vaught. On Saturday evening at Wheatland in the $3,000 to win weekend finale, Terry won his heat race, led laps 6-12 of the main event, and was in the seventh finishing position after forty green flag circuits. PHILLIPS ENTERS BATESVILLE'S BAD BOY 98...

Terry Phillips and his #75 TPR team found themselves in the pit area at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on April 7-8 for the annual running of the 'Bad Boy 98.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie drew 45 entrants to the Razorback State for the two-day extravaganza, which boasted a whopping $20,000 winner's check. On Friday night, Terry timed in thirteenth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session prior to placing eighth in his stacked heat race. The Springfield, Missouri ace then wound up sixth in Saturday's consolation event, which unfortunately did not transfer him into the 98-lap feature that was won by Tim McCreadie. Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) unloaded their potent Super Late Model for the first time since January on Saturday evening, April 1 at Legit Speedway Park in West Plains, Missouri. The MARS Dirt Car Series-West tour rolled into the former West Plains Motor Speedway last night to preside over a $3,000 to win shootout. Terry Phillips timed in fourth fastest during the qualifying session prior to finishing second in heat race action. After starting the 35-lap headliner from the outside of the second row, TP wound up finishing fourth in the caution-free affair behind only victor Payton Looney, Tony Jackson, Jr., and Tim Manville. PHILLIPS LANDS IN TOP TEN DURING KOA WEEKEND

The #75 TPR team rolled into Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas on March 23-25 for the huge 'King of America VII' weekend, which was once again sanctioned by the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). In Thursday's $3,000 to win weekend opener, Terry Phillips ran second in his heat race prior to climbing up to sixth in the A-Main. After finishing second in both heat races on Friday evening, Terry accumulated the most points in doing so, which landed him the pole position for Saturday night's $10,000 to win 'King of America' finale. During the course of the 70-lapper, TP fought brake issues and eventually slipped back to ninth in the final finishing order. TERRY PHILLIPS NABS PAIR OF TOP TENS AT SNMS
(March 20, 2017)
Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) made the long tow to Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, New Mexico on March 17-19 for the three-day 'Short Track Shootout.' The USRA Open Wheel Modified tripleheader kicked off on Friday evening with a $3,000 to win showdown. Terry Phillips ran second in his heat race prior to claiming a solid seventh place performance in the feature.

On Saturday night, Terry and the rest of the Modified stars competed for a $4,000 top prize at Southern New Mexico Speedway. TP placed third in his heat race and sixth in the caution-free 30-lap headliner behind only winner Johnny Scott, Jake Gallardo, Rodney Sanders, Stormy Scott, and Bumper Jones. In the 'Short Track Shootout' finale on Sunday afternoon, the Springfield, Missouri ace finished second in his heat race and led early in the $5,000 to win A-Main before brake problems forced him to retire from the race. Terry wound up relegated to a disappointing twenty-fifth place effort. TP WINS RACE OF CHAMPIONS DURING SPRING NAT'LS

Terry Phillips jumped behind the wheel of a Jordan Grabouski Racing entry from March 8-10 at Beatrice Speedway in Beatrice, Nebraska for the 24th edition of the 'Spring Nationals' for IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds. Terry, who won the $500 top prize in the Race of Champions during Wednesday's practice session, also took the victory in his heat race on Thursday night. Unfortunately, TP hit the outside retaining wall early in the $2,500 to win feature and was placed twenty-fourth in the final finishing order. In Friday evening's $2,500 to win finale, the Springfield, Missouri standout ran third in his heat race, won his B-Main, and had blasted up to sixth in the headliner before a flat right front tire dropped him to twenty-second at the pay window. PHILLIPS STEADY IN THREE-DAY CAJUN CLASH

Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) returned to dirt-slinging action with their Open Wheel Modified from March 2-4 in the 6th Annual USMTS 'Cajun Clash' at Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana. Things kicked off on Thursday evening with a $2,000 to win showdown. Terry Phillips ran eighth in his heat race prior to blasting to the front of his B-Main to score the triumph. TP then rolled past eight competitors during the 30-lap feature en route to a solid sixth place showing behind only winner Johnny Scott, Ryan Gustin, Jason Hughes, Cade Dillard, and Kyle Strickler.

On Friday night, a $3,000 payday was on the line for the cars and stars racing with the USMTS tour. Terry finished fourth in heat race action, won his B-Main, and later placed eleventh in the final rundown of the 40-lapper. In Saturday's weekend finale at Ark-La-Tex, which boasted a $4,000 top prize, Terry ran second in his loaded heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the fourth row in the 50-lap headliner. The Springfield, Missouri star then steered by a trio of racecars during the A-Main on his way to a strong fifth place performance behind only victor Cade Dillard, Ricky Thornton, Jr., Chris Brown, and Ryan Gustin.
