Another soggy day in the desert forced 'Wild West Shootout' officials to scrap plans for the day-night doubleheader today at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona. The final two events of the six race miniseries have been scrapped due to inclement weather and will not be rescheduled. Terry Phillips leaves the Phoenix-area with a pair of Top Fives in the four races that were put into the record books.

(January 14, 2017) An unfortunate rain-out of the fifth round of the 'Wild West Shootout' tonight at Arizona Speedway will set up a rare day-night doubleheader in the desert on Sunday, January 15. The $5,000 to win, rain-postponed show will kick things off on Sunday morning, while the $12,000 to win miniseries finale will wrap things up at the Queen Creek, Arizona facility on Sunday evening.

(January 13, 2017) Night four of the 'Wild West Shootout' miniseries greeted Terry Phillips and his #75 TPR team tonight and yet another $5,000 winner's check was on the line at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona. Terry laid down the sixth quickest time in his group during qualifying before grabbing the fifth transfer spot through his stacked heat race. The Springfield, Missouri star then blitzed past thirteen competitors during the 30-lapper to garner an impressive fifth place performance behind only victor Bobby Pierce, Chris Simpson, Billy Moyer, and Garrett Alberson!

(January 11, 2017) After a couple of days off in the desert, round three of the 11th Annual 'Wild West Shootout' took center stage tonight at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona. Debuting a brand-new Black Diamond chassis, Terry Phillips posted the second quickest lap in his group during time trials prior to picking up an impressive heat race triumph. After drawing the pole position for the $5,000 to win main event, TP led the talented field for the first three circuits before eventually finishing the 30-lap affair in the fifth position behind only race winner Billy Moyer, Chris Simpson, Bobby Pierce, and Jimmy Mars!

(January 8, 2017) Another $5,000 top prize was up for grabs for the #75 team tonight in round two of the annual 'Wild West Shootout' at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona. Terry Phillips knocked down the sixth quickest time in his group during the qualifying session before finishing sixth in his heat race and second in his B-Main. After rolling off from the outside of the twelfth row in the 30-lap headliner, TP encountered an unfortunate flat tire shortly before the halfway mark and was eventually placed fourteenth in the final finishing order.

(January 7, 2017) The Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) team once again kicked off their racing season in the Copper State, as they were in the pit area at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona tonight for the $5,000 to win 'Wild West Shootout' opener! Terry Phillips clicked off the fifth fastest lap in his group during qualifying prior to finishing fourth in heat race action. Following a triumph in his B-Main, Terry slowed on the eighth circuit of the 30-lapper to draw a caution and retired in the twenty-third position.

Terry Phillips and his #75 TPR team are in the process of trekking out west for the 11th edition of the 'Wild West Shootout,' which will be held for the first time at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona. Terry's first six events of 2017 will take place from January 7-15 at the 1/3-mile oval located just outside of Phoenix. The first five races will pay $5,000 to the victor while the January 15 finale will boast a $12,000 winner's check.

A $10,000 points fund has been established for the six-race miniseries with $3,000 earmarked for the overall champion. In addition, 'Wild West Shootout' title sponsor Keyser Manufacturing has posted a $250,000 bonus for any driver that can sweep all six shows, a $100,000 bonus for five wins, and a $50,000 bonus for a driver picking up four feature victories. Terry has accumulated the second-most wins in Arizona during January, as the Springfield, Missouri star has reached victory lane on ten different occasions in recent years. Terry Phillips, of Springfield, Missouri, closed out his version of the 2016 racing season from November 10-12 in the annual running of the 'Duel in the Desert' at the pristine Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. Aboard one of Jordan Grabouski's #75 GRT mounts, which was decaled to mirror one of his dad's paint schemes from the mid-70s, Terry advanced from fourteenth to third in his A-Qualifier on Thursday night to finish behind only prelim victor Lucas Schott and runner-up Bobby Hogge IV. After rolling off from the inside of the fifth row in Saturday's $7,777.77 to win main event, TP quickly moved up to fourth in the 40-lapper before a broken tie-rod ended his weekend prematurely and forced him to settle for a twenty-fourth place effort. Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) invaded 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on November 4-5 for the 'Chisholm Trail Showdown,' which was sanctioned by the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). On Friday night, Terry Phillips ran second in his first heat race of the evening, while he placed fourth in his final prelim. After racking up the tenth most passing points in preliminary competition, TP started Saturday's $5,000 to win headliner from the outside of the fifth row. The Springfield, Missouri standout then methodically worked his way to the front of the field in the 50-lapper and was officially placed third in the final finishing order behind only winner Ryan Gustin and runner-up Dereck Ramirez. Springfield, Missouri standout Terry Phillips traveled to Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, New Mexico on October 21-23 for the annual running of the 'USRA Fall Nationals.' The huge Open Wheel Modified special at SNMS boasted an $11,000 to win headliner. After finishing twelfth in Friday's preliminary feature and third on Saturday evening in the prelim, Terry started the 50-lap feature event on Sunday night from the outside of the third row. Unfortunately, TP was spun early in the race and was forced to rebound from the tail of the field to salvage a fourteenth place showing. Terry Phillips and his #75 team rolled into Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas from October 13-15 for the annual running of the 'USRA National Championship.' Terry won his heat race on Thursday night prior to scoring the $500 triumph in the preliminary feature event. After finishing sixth in Friday evening's prelim, TP ran third in the dash on Saturday to earn the inside of the second row for the start of the $3,000 to win headliner. In the 35-lapper, the Springfield, Missouri standout eventually finished right where he started... in the third spot behind only victor Lucas Schott and runner-up Zack VanderBeek. Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) wrapped up the 2016 version of the Lucas Oil MLRA Series season schedule on October 7-8 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. In night one of the 'Fall Nationals' on Friday, Terry Phillips won his heat race prior to finishing fifth in the $3,000 to win feature event behind only winner Jesse Stovall, Bobby Pierce, Billy Moyer, and Brian Shirley. In Saturday's $5,000 to win 'Fall Nationals' finale at Wheatland, Terry ran fourth in his heat race, but was later involved in a wreck during the headliner and wound up twenty-first in the final finishing order.

The busy weekend then concluded on Sunday evening, October 9 at the nearby Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri, as the MARS DIRTcar Series sanctioned the 'Showdown on Route 66.' Terry clicked off the second fastest time in his group during qualifying prior to scoring the victory in his heat race. Unfortunately, the Springfield native slipped back through the field during the $6,600 to win main event and was eventually paid for another twenty-first place performance. It was another busy weekend for Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) on September 29-October 1, as they traveled to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas and Salina Highbanks Speedway in Pryor Creek, Oklahoma for a trio of high-profile Open Wheel Modified programs. At Lakeside on Thursday night, Terry Phillips advanced up to fifth in his heat race, but was later involved in a first lap wreck in his $1,500 to win 'Dueces Wild' feature event and wound up twenty-fourth in the final finishing order. On Friday evening, the 'Grant Junghans Memorial' took center stage and a huge $10,002 top prize was on the line. Terry ran second in his heat race prior to moving up to twelfth in the 42-lap mega-event.

The tripleheader weekend then wrapped up on Saturday at Salina with a $3,000 to win Modified shootout. TP blasted past six competitors during his heat race to finish third and later rolled off from the outside of the third row in the headliner. The Springfield, Missouri ace was then on the move in the feature as well, as he advanced up to third to earn a strong podium effort in the 'Sooner Showdown!'
